Old style Samson sn 1906 build in 1906. This was the first picture I saw of the engine.

This was the first time I saw the engine. Isn't it nice?
I was over at George's place for the HOWT 1 in July 2000.

It has a heavy brass cast name tag.

Uncrating early May 2001. The other engine is a 1907 Fairbanks Morse T type.

We made an old looking truck for it. This is actually the first time we had it running.
We have it running on propane. It can run VERY slow for a throttle governed engine. We have it running at 140 RPM, but it can go as low as 120 RPM!
Not bad for a 3 HP throttle governed engine!

The governor is completely made of brass.  It's belt driven from the flywheel hub.

This how it looks now. We'd had allot of comments to keep it as it is. So I don't think we'll restore it.

Whenever the weather's fine, we pull it out of the shed and have it running for a while. It's soooo smooth...
