Pt 4

I arrived on Tuesday evening at about 8.30 pm. George picked me up at the Airport and we were at George's place at about 9.30 pm. First thing to do was to say hello to Kathy.
The next thing was to see my Stickney!!! It was the first time I actually saw it. Of course we had to have it running too;-)

The Wednesday we prepared for HOWT 2. We loaded the trailer with a 1956 IHC pick-up truck that we had to drop of in Nebraska. And loaded all the other stuff we would need during the trip in the Pick-up.
Since we started early that day we had time to do our first collector "trip" that afternoon.
We went to Ed Banke's place. Ed is the one that I got the Stickney from.

Very usual Stickney, the spark-plug and coil are original.

Ed also has a complete line of Monitor's this is a 4 hp Ball hopper.

Emmerson & Brantingham

The next day (Thursday) we started real early about 4.30 am, to head for Portland Indiana!
Our first (engine) stop was in Idaho, at Lauren Langdon.
This is a very impressive 60 hp Fairbanks Morse N type hoist.

4 hp Field & Brundage side-shaft.

Now that's a big igniter!!

The next day we headed east again and stopped at DJ Baish's place.
This is his very nice Foos.

After looking at all his engine's and tractor's we were on the road again we still wanted to go all the way through Wyoming that day.

The next day we entered Nebraska. At Funk Nebraska we had our next stop at Chris and Rod Eppings place. They sure have a VERY nice collection of engine's and (prairy) tractor's.
This is their fluted hopper Aermotor, aren't they great looking engine's?

Badger side-shaft.

Very rare Brown-Cochran side-shaft.

Of course we had lots of miles to go that day;-) We dropped of the IHC pick-up and spend the night at Omaha NB.

The next day (Sunday) we entered Iowa pretty early. We drove all the way up to Eastern Iowa before we had our next "engine" stop at Denny Puck's place.
This is his GIANT 20 hp Charter. He is able to start it all by himself!
